McDonald’s Announces NEW Menu Item and More Coming SOON

McDonald’s has been stepping up its viral marketing campaign game lately.

We’ve seen  cryptic new menu items and secret text threads to Adult Happy Meals and more, and it doesn’t look like that will stop anytime soon. McDonald’s latest drop features a brand-new menu item and a whole lot more — let’s check it out.

Welcome to WcDonald’s! No, that’s not a typo, either. “WcDonald’s” restaurants have become synonymous with the most popular movies and shows in anime, and now, McDonald’s is rolling out a new campaign to celebrate!

Beginning February 26th, the WcDonald’s universe will be unleashed in more than 30 McDonald’s markets across the globe. The drop will include a new sauce, manga-inspired packaging, episodic shorts, and “so much more.”

A new SAUCE, you say?! Yep — it’s true. The Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce will be available for a limited time. It features a “unique combination of ginger, garlic and soy with a slight heat from chili flakes,” which sounds like it will be a take on a sweet Thai chili sauce.

According to McDonald’s, the sauce pairs well with an order of “WcNuggets” or anything else you love to get at the fast food chain.

Not only that, but McDonald’s has teamed up with Japanese manga artist and illustrator Acky Bright to design custom packaging that will transport you into the WcDonald’s world.

If you redeem the code on the packaging, you get access to weekly digital manga drops that star a full cast of WcDonald’s Customers and Crew, including Hashirune, a WcDonald’s regular; Mr. Bev, the Crew jokester; WcDizer 3000, WcDonald’s very own mecha; and many more.

Every Monday from February 26th through March 18th, a new short and manga will drop on WcDonalds.com or by scanning the code on your WcDonald’s bag. Check out the episodes below:

• The Race to WcDonald’s (drops Feb. 26): A rivalry strong enough to withstand the test of time as our two heroes embark on an epic race to WcDonald’s.
• Love from Across the Booth (drops March 4): Our two protagonists discover the WcDonald’s Sauce and WcNuggets aren’t the only perfect pairing.
• WcNuggets Space Frontier 3000 (drops March 11): A team of WcDonald’s pilots must protect the last WcNugget against an ominous force.
• The Wisdom of the Sauce (drops March 18): Three women are transported to a distant land to unravel the mystery surrounding the elusive sauce before it’s gone forever.

In other McDonald’s news, new Happy Meal Toys will be coming soon based around Warner Bros. Discover’s MultiVersus video game but they haven’t officially been revealed yet. Keep checking back for more!
