You may remember the new Disney Wish cruise ship that just debuted (and is already pretty popular!). Well, the Disney Treasure is Disney Wish’s sister ship!

This ship has been making quite a bit of progress lately, which makes sense, given that the ship is set for delivery in 2024. That’s less than a year away! Recently, Disney shared a look at the latest construction update, and the ship is really coming along.

Not only that, but we know a bit about what will make this ship special. As Disney Cruise Line fans may know, the stern of each of Disney’s cruise ships is embellished with different Disney characters. Disney shared an artist rendering of the sculptures that will be featured on the Treasure ship. We’re off to Neverland (er, Nassau) with Peter Pan and Captain Hook — how fun!

Oh, and Disney even gave us another little preview of what’s to come — check out Minnie Mouse in her all-new adventure attire! Did you know that Minnie will be at the helm of the new Disney Treasure ship? What a fun surprise!

Disney explained that the Treasure is inspired by the “mystery and grandeur of a gilded palace and will take inspiration from Asia, Africa, and Aladdin’s Agrabah. It will also feature a statue of Aladdin and Jasmine, which you can see in the concept art below.

Earlier this year, the crew working on the ship in Papenburg, Germany, had a keel-laying ceremony. For those that don’t know, this is a special celebration that follows a maritime tradition that brings good fortune to the ship. As you can see, the crew placed a newly-minted coin under the keel of the ship for good luck.
