Listen, we know a lot about Disney World, but there are some questions even we don’t know the answer to.
How are the six songs on Cosmic Rewind randomized, and yet it feels like you get the same one over and over? What’s really going on on the top floors of the stores on Main Street U.S.A.? And finally, the one that’s been on MY mind the most — WHY must this Magic Kingdom ball pit be forbidden?
I’ll explain, hang on — when you’re both walking out of and into the Space Mountain ride in Magic Kingdom, you walk up and down lots of steps and ramps in the queue. On your way, you pass a few different space-related displays related to the ride, and one of them is a MASSIVE ball pit.
Okay, it’s not REALLY a ball pit…I don’t think. It really just looks like a ton of silver balls (space rocks?) inside a pit…okay yeah, it’s totally a ball pit. More specifically — a FORBIDDEN ball pit.
But I’ll never be able to REALLY tell because it’s 100% a prohibited spot in Disney World. If you were to try to get into this display, you’d be promptly kicked out of the park. But that doesn’t mean I’m not curious!
They look kinda heavy if I’m being honest, but I’ll never KNOW because I can’t GET THERE! I know it’s silly, but it’s a burning question that I wonder for hours whenever I’m in the parks (or writing about it, for that matter — how am I going to sleep tonight?!).

Additionally, we know that when Space Mountain opened on January 15th, 1975, it was the world’s first indoor roller coaster. Pretty impressive, eh? It was also the first coaster to be completely computerized!
