Over the past few months, several things have changed in Disneyland.
Back in June, Disneyland changed its face mask policies, removed temperature screenings from the parks, and started allowing out-of-state guests to visit the park. But things with COVID-19 have also continued to change and develop and Disneyland has now updated its indoor mask policy so we headed into the parks to see it in action.
Just a few days ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention adjusted their indoor mask guidance. The CDC now recommends that fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask in indoor, public spaces where there is a “high” or “substantial” level of COVID-19 transmission.
Additionally, California health officials recently urged everyone, including those who are vaccinated, to wear masks in indoor public settings following a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in the state.
According to the CDC data, Orange County, California, where Disneyland is located, is (as of July 29th) in the “Substantial” transmission level.
Just a few days ago, Disneyland announced that it would be changing its indoor mask policy, effective July 30th. So, we decided to check out this updated policy in person.
According to the Disneyland website, starting July 30th, face coverings are required for all guests ages 2 and up in all indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout many attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles (like shuttles and buses) though masks are still optional in outdoor settings.
When we visited Disneyland today, we noticed that there was signage all around the parks with the new policy.
So, whether you were just entering the park or entering an indoor shop, dining location, or queue, there was plenty of reminders of the update.
