Cast Members get a lot of cool perks when they work at Disney World!
The most obvious perk is that Cast Members receive free admission to the parks. Around the holidays, Cast Members are given a bigger discount on merch and coupons for 30%, 40%, and 50% off dining. They even receive coupons for certain free snacks around the parks! Did you know that there is a special Cast Member raffle each week? Well, I used to be a Cast Member, and I won this raffle on my first try!
Aloha everyone! My name is Jessica, and I used to be a seater at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Each week, Cast Members have the opportunity to sign up for different raffles on the Cast Member hub. These are called Magic Backstage, and there are so many different experiences that you could win!
Prizes range from backstage tours of rides to free tickets to after-hours events and even free cruises! Yes, you heard that right! Each Wednesday, Cast Members can check for new experiences to be added and can sign up for each one once.
After my “Aloha Day” (this is Polynesian Cast Member’s welcome day), I went home and signed up for my first Magic Backstage sweepstakes. One of the prizes was two tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
A few days later (before I even started my on-the-job training at the Polynesian), I was selected for a prize! I won two free tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!
For those who may not know, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed after-hours event that takes place in Magic Kingdom on select nights from August to November.

As my plus one to the party, I took Hayden, a member of our reporting team, with me! Of course, we had to dress up!
We dressed as Remy and Linguini from Ratatouille! Some super sweet Cast Members at Star Traders in Tomorrowland awarded us “Best Costume” buttons, which just made the night even more special!
We spent the night trick-or-treating and riding as many rides as we could since the wait times are so short on party nights! Of course, we had to take time to see the iconic Mickey’s Boo To You parade and watch Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular!
Magic Backstage is a great way to thank Cast Members for their hard work and dedication to making magic for guests every day! I was so lucky to win, and I can’t believe I got it on my first try!
