5 Unspoken Rules in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion

Guten Tag! Ready to travel to EPCOT’s World Showcase?

Spaceship Earth

EPCOT is incredibly famous for its one-of-a-kind attractions, festivals, Drinking Around the World, and, of course, its World Showcase. Many pavilions like Mexico and France get a lot of love (and for good reason), but let’s focus on an unsung pavilion — Germany.

Although it doesn’t feature any attractions, we find a ton of value in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT. Vibrant, creative, and boasting lots of delicious Oktoberfest-themed cuisine, Germany has plenty to offer to EPCOT guests.

Germany Pavilion

We love the Germany Pavilion so much, that we wanted to share five unspoken rules that we generally follow when we visit. Let’s dive in!

1. Dine at Biergarten

Biergarten

Biergarten Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in all of EPCOT. This indoor German courtyard is styled after the 16th-century town of Rothenberg and serves a German Oktoberfest buffet that includes a variety of German sausages, sauerbraten, and red cabbage. This is also a great spot to watch Oktoberfest-themed live entertainment. The epitome of the Germany Pavilion, we can’t recommend experiencing Biergarten enough!

2. Appreciate the Train!

Germany Model Train Set

You can’t leave the Germany Pavilion without checking out its famous model train set! This German model train is packed with fine detail as well as a miniature town that perfectly resembles the pavilion’s spirit! Charming and unique, you HAVE to check this out next time you find yourself in this corner of EPCOT.

3. Grab a giant pretzel and beer

Only fools (or people who are already stuffed) would pass on a giant pretzel from Germany! Quintessentially Bavarian, giant pretzels can be found at Sommerfest and the Bier Cart. Make your meal even better by pairing it with a German beer!

4. Swear by Karamell-Küche

Karamell-Kuche

We are OBSESSED with the treats at Karamell-Küche! We recommend trying the Caramel Butter Bar (a buttery shortbread cookie) and some caramel popcorn! The popcorn is made fresh throughout the day and is the perfect blend of sweet and salty. Really, you can’t go wrong with anything here.

5. Visit the Pickle Tree

PIckle Ornaments

Is your favorite holiday Christmas or do you just love the season? Hop on over to Die Weihnachts Ecke!  Known as The Christmas Corner, this German store sells hand-crafted ornaments, nutcrackers, and other holiday decor no matter the time of year! Be sure to grab yourself a famous pickle ornament from the pickle tree!
