We Tried 9 (!!!) New Treats at Disney’s Pixar Fest!

Pixar Fest has officially kicked off at Disneyland Resort and we are here to try the most exciting new eats!

Pixar Fest is HERE!

We are reviewing 9 new treats, so get ready to feast with your eyes. What’s worth the money? What’s a total skip? And what’s a must-buy?! It’s time to find out!

Disneyland Park

Over at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, you can get the new Eye Scream Cone inspired by Monsters, Inc for $9.29! This is a scoop of pistachio ice cream dipped in green chocolate, garnished with a candy eye and horn.

Eye Scream Cone

Our reporter isn’t a big fan of pistachio ice cream so they weren’t super into this, but the shell tasted like white chocolate and didn’t melt. The cone was sweet and seemed fresh, but the price on this seems a little high for just 1 scoop of ice cream.

It looks a little rough, but it’s good!

It is pretty photogenic though, so if you’re looking for the perfect picture, this is probably the treat to grab. If you enjoy pistachio and chocolate, this is definitely for you!

You will have to break through that shell!

At Tropical Hideaway, you can find the new Pineapple Coconut Float inspired by the short Lava for $9.29! It’s made with blue DOLE pineapple-coconut juice and is topped with DOLE Whip soft serve, strawberry lava, and a gummy!

Pineapple Coconut Float

This was a refreshing treat and all the flavors worked really well together! The tart flavor from the pineapple was a bit sweeter from the strawberry lava and the pineapple coconut added a refreshing flavor into the mix.

So pretty!

We think this the perfect treat for a hot day and on is the healthier side of some of the treats around Disneyland Resort. However, if you don’t like tart flavors, you’ll likely want to stay away.

We love the turtle on top!

At Troubadour Tavern, you can get the new Firetown Mac & Cheese Bites inspired by Elemental for $11.49. These are fried gouda mac and cheese bites tossed in four-chile rub.

Firetown Mac & Cheese Bites

These are spicier than we thought they’d be! The chile rub overpowers most flavors so it’s mostly spicy flavors with hints of cheese. The outside has a soft and chewy texture while the inside texture is just Mac and cheese, which may throw some people sensitive to textures off.  If you’re not a fan of spice, this REALLY isn’t the option for you. But if you’re looking for a real kick and you’re not sensitive to textures (and you don’t mind spending a whopping $11), give it a try!

VERY spicy!

Over at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, you can snag the new Marigold Bridge inspired by Coco for $6.99. This is a new tri-colored white sponge, cinnamon croquantine, cinnamon mousse, and cream cheese frosting decorated with a chocolate bridge and orange chocolate shaving.

Marigold Bridge

The cake itself is soft, moist, and served chilled. It has a sweet vanilla flavor while the frosting is pretty dense and just tastes like cream cheese with hints of cinnamon. We could taste orange a bit, but it wasn’t strong.

So pretty!

Overall we enjoyed this, but we do wish the other flavors would’ve been stronger because for the most part, it just tasted like a plain vanilla cupcake with cream cheese frosting and hints of cinnamon. But if that’s your jam, then give it a go!

Flavors are a bit muted

At Refreshment Corner, you can find the new BBQ Potato Dog inspired by Toy Story for $15.49. This is a new dog with smoked sausage, BBQ pulled pork, coleslaw, fried onions, and green onions served in a baked potato.

BBQ Potato Dog

The sausage had a smokey flavor followed by sweet barbeque sauce flavor, and while the skin was a little hard to bite through at first, it turned out just fine. The pulled pork was full of flavor and covered in sweet barbeque sauce, which we loved, the coleslaw added a refreshing and tangy flavor, and the onions added a nice crunch on top of the sausage.

There’s a lot going on here!

The baked potato almost absorbed all the sauce, giving it a sweet bbq flavor which we liked a lot. Overall, this dish is pricier than others, but we feel it’s worth it! If you’re a barbeque lover and are looking for a hearty option, this is for you!

Disney California Adventure Park

If you know us, you know that we think that Disneyland Churros are elite to Disney World churros. So we had the try a new churro out to see if it lives up to our expectations! Over at the churro cart near Goofy’s Sky School, you can get a new Mr. Potato Head Chip Churro for $7.25, which is topped with crushed potato chips and a chocolate drizzle.

Mr. Potato Head Chip Churro

This was a good twist on the classic churro! It was like a warm churro topped with chocolate and potato chips. The salty and chocolate flavors combined to make the perfect churro topping.

Sweet and salty!

If you’re a fan of sweet and salty mixes, you HAVE to try this one. We definitely plan on getting it again before its gone!

We loved it!

At Cozy Cone Motel 3, you can get a new Chili Cone Queso Luigi & Guido Cone inspired by Cars for $11. This cone has cheese tortellini, pomodoro sauce, and mozzarella and it’s topped with basil panko and served in a bread cone.

Chili Cone Queso Luigi & Guido Cone

This was a cheesy snack with hints of basil and tomato. The cheese tortellini was warm and fresh, if you got a bite with mozzarella it was extra cheesy! There was a basil and light tomato flavor throughout the whole cone.

So unique!

The pomodoro sauce added a tomato flavor that was light and refreshing compared to normal marinara. The basil panko was strong if you had a bite with lots of it, if not it added a nice basil-y flavor with every bite.

Give it a try!

Over at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream, you can get the new Adventure is Out There! Sundae inspired by Up for $9.29. It’s vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a candied balloon in a waffle cup.

Adventure is out there!

It’s hard to go wrong with a vanilla and hot fudge sundae. The ice cream was rich and full of vanilla flavor, and the hot fudge had a thick texture, making it the perfect topping. The whipped cream had a light texture and added some more sweetness to go with the sundae.

The candy house and ties were just sugar, and the chocolate waffle cone bowl was a bit much after the sundae. The waffle cone seemed fresh but it was pretty heavy on the chocolate, so keep that in mind!

A LOT going on here.

Looking for a shake? Then head over to Schmoozies! for the new Shake 2319 inspired by Monsters, Inc. for $9.79. This is a vanilla, orange, guava and pineapple shake with shaved coconut, whipped topping, and an orange cone.

Shake 2319

We loved this shake! It’s refreshing with some tropical vibes. The main flavor is a mix of vanilla and orange flavors, and then there’s hints of guava or pineapple (sometimes both) with each sip. We couldn’t taste a ton of coconut, even when mixing it in, and the only real downer was that the orange cone had a strong artificial flavor and was a little stale.

Yum (just take the cone off)!

If you’re a big fan of fruity flavors, we definitely say give this one a try! All these treats (and MORE) are only available through August 4th, so be sure to grab them this summer while you can. And stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest news!
