Have you heard the news?! Disney World is getting a brand new stage show themed to The Little Mermaid!
Ever since the parks closed in 2020, Voyage of the Little Mermaid has sat in the park empty and parkgoers have been wondering if the show would return or not. Now, with the announcement of the upcoming show, it looks like we have our answer.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we knew it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”, an all-new stage show, will replace the show in the Animation Courtyard theater in Fall 2024.
There do seem to be some similarities between the shows starting with the storyline following the animated Little Mermaid story. It will also include “Part of Your World”
However, the Disney Live Entertainment team has been working to add new elements, and “Kiss the Girl” (which was not in Voyage of the Little Mermaid) will be in the new show. Take a look at the concept art for the show here!
We’ll have to wait until Fall 2024 to see the new show in action, but in the meantime, we can grieve the loss of Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The show opened in 1992, so it had a good, long run!

Many years ago I was amazed at the effects Disney was able to do so I felt like I was underwater at this show. Dazzling. Sad to see it go.
