While Blizzard Beach has been open since Spring 2021, Typhoon Lagoon has remained closed since March 2020. Now these water parks are switching places — and here’s what you need to know!

January 1st, 2022, will be the last day for guests to visit Blizzard Beach before it closes for refurbishment for an unknown amount of time. As of January 2nd, Blizzard Beach will be closed, and there is currently no reopening date listed on Disney World’s calendar.

Blizzard Beach is the larger Disney World waterpark, and it’s themed after a ski resort. With 17 different water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and children’s play areas, there’s plenty to do there, but you’ll have to wait until after the refurbishment is finished.
