Ah, June. It’s the time of year when the temperature gets WAY hot (especially in Florida), summer vacations are in full swing, and Disney is debuting a whole BUNCH of new shows and attractions. You ready? We hope so because June will be here before you know it!
When we say Disney is doing a LOT this June, we mean it. Summer 2024 in Disney World is going to be FUN, but if you’re planning a trip to Disney World this June, here are all the biggest CHANGES you need to know.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Is OPENING!
It’s happening. After watching, and waiting, and analyzing every little change in Magic Kingdom, soon we will finally be able to ride a NEW Magic Kingdom attraction called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will replace Magic Kingdom’s old Splash Mountain ride and will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog, “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”
The ride will officially open to EVERYONE on June 28th, 2024. Disney has already shared some Cast Member, Disney Vacation Club, and Annual Passholder previews ahead of the grand opening date, and you can read more about ride previews HERE.
Additionally, the ride will use a virtual queue system when it opens, so you might want to read up on the process before your visit.

We imagine this ride will be very popular when it opens. We’re expecting long lines (even with a virtual queue in place) and high demand.

Both CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza are FINALLY Opening!
EPCOT’s grand transformation process has been a loooong work in progress. This park has been covered in construction walls for months on end, but that EPCOT transformation is about to be complete.
Disney revealed that the final parts of the transformation will finally open this June. In fact, CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will open on June 10th.
This area will be home to all kinds of new things, like the Mickey Mouse and friends meet-and-greet, and Disney also called this space an “indoor space for you and your family to recharge.” That could mean some much-needed air conditioning will be coming to EPCOT soon!
CommuniCore Plaza will be a new outdoor space with the ability to host a giant concert on a stage or a more intimate performance. World Celebration will feature some lush gardens with seating and shade, and each garden is meant to have its own identity and the ability to amplify festival programming throughout the year. We can’t wait for this new area to open!

Look Out for a NEW Encanto Show, Too!
Of course, now that CommuniCore Plaza is opening soon, that means we need a new SHOW to show off the space! Disney teased a brand-new Encanto show called “¡Celebración Encanto!” This show will feature Mirabel and Bruno as they host a singalong filled with memorable Encanto songs.
The show will open at the CommuniCore Plaza stage on June 10th and will run through September 6th.

CHANGES to Joy’s Meet-and-Greet
For years, you have been able to meet Joy in EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion. But now, that meet-and-greet is changing!
Joy is moving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and will begin meeting people in her NEW location on June 10th — just before the premiere of Inside Out 2.
Joy will be available at Pixar Plaza, and you can find her full list of meet times on the My Disney Experience app starting June 10th.
