Universal Orlando is getting a POWER-UP.
Universal has officially announced the details of Epic Universe’s upcoming Super Nintendo World. The land – or Portal in the park’s parlance – will be similar to sister installations win Osaka and Hollywood, with rides, eateries, and one exclusive-to-the-land kind of souvenir all making the trip to Orlando.
Power-Up bands, the themed wristbands that interact with elements of the land — think wands in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands — that have become wildly popular in the company’s Japan and California parks will be available at Epic Universe and be compatible with Super Nintendo World.
According to Universal, those who purchase the names will be able to “enhance their play throughout Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. With the Power-Up Band, guests can collect digital coins by punching. Blocks and playing interactive activities, collect digital stamps on attractions, earn digital keys to unlock an exclusive showdown against Bowser Jr., and discover other hidden surprises.”
By importing the popular elements of their other two Super Nintendo World installations, universal is setting up the new Epic Universe land to be on elf the most popular in the Central Florida theme park market. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Universal news.
