Disney Announces OPENING TIMELINE for Magic Kingdom’s Most Confusing New Attraction

Quite a few changes are coming to Magic Kingdom these days!

From the updates at Country Bear Jamboree to the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride under construction, 2024 is a big year for the park. And now, we’ve started to see ANOTHER addition get installed in Storybook Circus!

A while back, Disney announced a new offering in Storybook Circus called Smellephants on Parade, sponsored by Scentsy. We got a little bit of concept art and a small blurb about the attraction, noting that it would include scented elephant statues throughout the land.

That announcement was made in July 2023, and now many months later, the first Smellephant has arrived! A popcorn-scented elephant statue resides next to Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

The full Smellephants on Parade adventure will premiere next month. Disney says, “When entering Storybook Circus, guests will stumble upon a casting call posted by Timothy Q. Mouse, seeking out a “Whiff-sistant” to join Dumbo’s newest act.” You’ll be able to pick up a map of the statues at the ticket booth in front of Big Top Souvenirs.

There will be eight Smellephant statues in total, and your map will come with a corresponding sticker sheet to use as you find them.

The first statue to arrive is themed to an iconic snack — popcorn! But the subsequent pachyderms will also feature different snacks and scents. Disney mentions churro, cotton candy, and more.
