Y’all, we can hardly wait.
Yes, we are officially in the part of the timeline where we are just on the edge of our seats with anticipation as we wait to hear opening details for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disney World and Disneyland. While we still don’t have any details as far as when we can expect the ride to open other than sometime in 2024, we do have several other details regarding the Disney World attraction. Let’s talk about it!
Here’s everything we know about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disney World!
The Story
This ride is a reimagining of the former Splash Mountain, and will continue Tiana’s story from where Princess and the Frog left off. You see, Tiana achieved her goals and opened her own restaurant — Tiana’s Palace. Yep, just like the one at Disneyland! Not only, that, though, but her restaurant business expanded to become Tiana’s Foods.
Well, the story begins as soon as you enter the attraction’s queue. You’ll immediately be greeted with the scent of beignets and the sounds of New Orleans. Yep, an Imagineer confirmed that New Orleans jazz would float from the speakers installed in the barn that’s in the queue.
Inside the barn is where the Tiana’s Foods offices are. That’s where all the hard work happens! Throughout the ride, all the original vegetation has been stripped and replaced with negation native to Louisiana. There’s gonna be Spanish moss, Cyprus trees, and other native plants. OH, and you’re probably wondering why there’s a mountain in New Orleans, since this shares the same layout as Splash Mountain. Well, the Tiana’s Foods complex has a large salt dome. That’s the “mountain!”
Anyway, let’s get to the drama. It’s Mardi Gras. Tiana is hosting the party. Except… she realizes that something is MISSING. So, you and me and everyone else on the ride have to go along with her on a BAYOU ADVENTURE to get the last element that she needs to make Mardi Gras a success.
Now, the Imagineers haven’t entirely just wiped away every trace of Splash Mountain.

Splash Mountain Nods
The Disney Imagineers confirmed that a few nods to Splash Mountain remain in the ride. For starters, the queue route and loading area is almost exactly the same. Further, you’ll board the SAME log flumes. Oh, and of course, the track is the same. Plus, the rocks and boulders and everything that you see within the ride is the same.
Imagineers also confirmed that more nods to Splash Mountain could be found on the ride once it’s complete, including stone arches. We can’t WAIT to hear more about these references!

Now, let’s talk about the characters we’ll see.
Animatronics
Disney shared that there will be several animatronics in the ride that will guide you along the story. There will be multiple Tiana animatronics, as well as a critter band (made up of bayou animals) and Louis the alligator.
These are state-of-the art animatronics similar to the ones in Disney’s newest Frozen Ever After ride in Hong Kong Disneyland.
These are super realistic-looking, and we’re SO excited. We also know that right before the big drop, there are hanging lanterns from the scene in the movie with Mama Odie.
And… that’s all. So far, that is all we know about the upcoming attraction! We’re always on the lookout for more news regarding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and we’ll update you with more once we have it. Follow along so that you never miss a thing!

Ok, so Tiana’s foods is going to be a spot or just the beginning of the ride? Where they will blast us with the smell of beniets, yet there is no where we can purchase them?!
Just asking…
