New EPCOT Park Map Shows Off Big CHANGES

It’s a big and very exciting day in Walt Disney World!

EPCOT

First of all, it’s Walt Disney’s birthday (Happy Birthday Walt!). In honor of the occasion, EPCOT premiered the new Walt Disney statue at Dreamers Point, and opened the brand-new World Celebration gardens. We’re checking it all out today, but with all those changes comes a new park map! Let’s take a look.

First of all, the new design has Figment on the cover, in his extra-large meet-and-greet form! (If you’d like to meet him, head to the Imagination Pavilion during the daytime.)

Hello new park map!

On the map itself, some important additions have been made. The World Showcase Lagoon features a nod to Luminous the Symphony of Us (the new fireworks show that premieres tonight) and World Celebration has been partially filled out.

New map

You can see the new World Celebration gardens on the map, with the four quadrants that feature seating areas and some character meet and greets. (We spotted both Daisy and Pluto in this area in the morning.)

You might also notice that the quadrant nearest the Imagination Pavilion is still partially “greened out” — that’s the space where CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will be once construction is complete. That area did not open today.

Closer look

Not much has changed with the map’s list itself, since the World Celebration gardens aren’t home to any attractions or food stops currently.

But on one side of the map, you’ll find more details for Luminous! The new show will feature lasers, lights, pyrotechnics, and a new soundtrack.

We’ll keep you in the loop as we continue to explore the additions in EPCOT — stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
