Magic Kingdom Had a ROUGH Morning Yesterday

Disney World may be The Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean that things are perfect all the time in the parks.

Sometimes things just happen that can derail your plans like crowds, weather, and ride closures. Some days can be particularly bad, and, well, Magic Kingdom has been struggling with ride closures.​

Yesterday, on May 14th, a whopping eight rides were closed in Magic Kingdom at park opening: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Peter Pan’s Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and
Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Four of those rides then stayed closed for another hour. That means if you’d had hopes of rope dropping some rides, your choices were a lot more limited than normal.

Now, this doesn’t always happen, but there’s not a lot you can do when there are multiple ride closures like this. The first thing is pretty obvious: you’ll just have to focus on other rides or experiences. We also recommend keeping an eye on the My Disney Experience app so you can see when closed rides reopen (and the good news is they usually do). If you can catch a ride shortly after it reopens, you may end up being able to nab a spot in a shorter standby line for that ride.
