8 Reasons You’ll Regret Not Staying at Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resort

Will you be visiting Disney World soon? If so, have you thought, REALLY thought, about your Disney World hotel?

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

Sure, you’ve probably checked out all the Disney-owned hotels, but have you considered staying at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts? If you haven’t, we’re going to tell you why you should.

You can earn and use Marriott Bonvoy rewards points

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is owned by Marriott, which means that you can earn Marriott Bonvoy points by staying at the resort, as well as use points to book stays (which could save you money).

It’s owned by Marriott

If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, it’s almost a no-brainer to book a stay here. You might as well make that vacation work for you, right?

Location

You just can’t beat the location of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. Why? Well, you can walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance (its best entrance) in minutes.

The quick walk to the International Gateway entrance into EPCOT from the EPCOT resorts.

However, you’re not just close to EPCOT, you’re also close to the other EPCOT-area resorts, including Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. That means you also have access to all the shopping and dining those hotels offer.

Transportation

Although you can visit Disney World’s theme parks and Disney Springs by bus, you also have access to the Skyliner (located at the EPCOT International Gateway entrance) and boats that go to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Just access to the Skyliner alone can link you to even more Disney World hotels, including Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, as well as Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Great Restaurants

Although you have access to restaurants located throughout the EPCOT-resort area (and restaurants at other Skyliner resorts), the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin also has its own great restaurants.

Rosa Mexicano

We’re big fans of Rosa Mexicano and Todd English’s bluezoo, but you’ve also got 21 OTHER restaurants and lounges to choose from.

All The Perks

One bonus of staying at Disney World hotels is that you get certain perks. You can also get those same perks at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. That includes Early Theme Park Entry, which gets you into the theme parks 30 minutes before the general public. You’ll also get access to Extended Evening Hours.

Another perk you’ll get is free parking at all four Disney World theme parks.

A deluxe hotel experience for less

Disney World deluxe hotels are certainly not cheap, but a stay at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin could be much more affordable. This matters because you’re still getting a deluxe hotel experience at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin for less than what a Disney-owned deluxe hotel would cost.

It’s even a better deal if you can use Marriott Bonvoy rewards to book a stay.

Comfy beds

A comfortable bed might not mean a lot to some people, but we want a good night’s sleep when we’re staying in Disney World, especially before we do full days in the parks.

Room at Swan and Dolphin

One thing you can count on with Marriott-owned hotels is the comfortable Westin heavenly beds. Those mattresses make it feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. Plus you also get double-stuffed feather pillows. Now, that’s what we call comfort.

Mobile Order at the Pool

If you plan on spending time at the pool, you actually have the option to Mobile Order food directly from your lounge chair. You don’t even have to get up to place your order. Just scan the QR code attached to your chair and order.

But wait…it gets better. You never have to leave your lounge chair because the food comes right to you. In our opinion, this is a game-changer.

So take our word for it, if you’re not considering the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort for your next stay, you might be missing out.

  1. My 19 mos old was on the way to the pool and wanted to slide down the small slide. We didn’t even think to check the temp and he burned the inside of his thighs. We expected Disney hotels to be a safe place for kids – no shade over the slide or warning signs for parents. Also, very disappointed with non existent maid service at Dolphin. Dirt behind bathroom doors, didn’t vaccuum once and last three days we had no service at all. Never again!

  2. The Swan and Dolphin is my families go to resort. In addition to an already lower rate than the other Disney Deluxe resorts you can also find significant discounts online. If you can, the best time to stay there is around Veterans Day in November. They host their own food and wine festival that is incredible. It would almost take you two nights just for that festival.
