Disney World has a lot more than roller coasters and character meet-and-greets. In fact, there’s a whole RANCH hiding at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! Yep — you can ride horses, go fishing, and even practice your archery skills at a Disney Resort.
But here’s the thing about live animals: they’re unpredictable. And when Disney is in the middle of a BIG construction project, well, it might make sense to pause some of those animal activities for the safety of the animals AND the visitors.
That’s why, starting July 13th, Disney announced that horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The temporary pause is due to construction in the area, and Disney does not list an end date for this important change.
The good news is that some horseback rides may still be available on Saturdays and Sundays, so make sure to check the My Disney Experience app to confirm that horseback riding will be available during your visit.
Since this activity will be limited to two days, we highly recommend reserving a ride as soon as you can.
Speaking of construction, don’t forget that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is getting brand-new cabins soon. The new Disney Vacation Club cabins are set to open on July 1st, 2024. Here’s a preview of the new rooms!
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
