Answering Your BIGGEST Questions About Disney World’s New Annual Passes

Disney announced the new Annual Passholder program for Disney World today, and there were some big changes, including pricing, pass options, and perks.

You may have some questions (or a lot of questions!), so we’re here with all the Frequently Asked Questions for the NEW Disney World Annual Passholder program!

Now that we know more about the new Disney World Annual Pass program, let’s go over pricing, dates, perks, ticket upgrades, add-ons, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about purchasing a new annual pass!

What are the new Disney World Annual Passholder tiers?

There will now be 4 different tiers of annual passes available at increasing prices, beginning with the Disney Pixie Dust Pass at $399. The next tier is the Disney Pirate Pass at $699.

The Disney Sorcerer Pass will be $899, and the Disney Incredi-Pass will cost $1,299. Make sure you factor in taxes for each pass, and Florida residents will also have the option to make monthly payments after a $205 down payment.

What are the blockout dates for the new Disney World Annual Passes?

Each pass will have select blockout dates, with the exception of the Incredi-Pass which has no blockout dates. Before you purchase a pass, you might want to review the blockout dates for each pass option.

The Pixie Dust Pass has the highest amount of blockout dates, including most weekends, peak times, and holidays.

Who can buy a Disney World Annual Pass?

The new Annual Pass program has only one annual pass available for non-Florida residents, which is the highest tier Incredi-Pass at $1,299. The Disney Sorcerer Pass is available only to Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members.

And both the Pirate Pass and the Pixie Dust Pass are available solely to Florida residents, which limits non-Florida residents to only one option, the Incredi-Pass.

When do the new Disney World Annual Passes go on sale?

The new Disney World Annual Passes will go on sale on September 8th.

After September 8th, current Annual Passholders up for renewal must opt into the new program. If you are a current Annual Passholder in your renewal period, you can choose to renew with the current system up through September 7th.

What’s included with the new Disney World Annual Passes?

Depending on the pass tier, Disney World Annual Passholders will get an allocated amount of park pass reservations, theme park parking, park hopping, and 20% off select dining and merchandise. The new calendar will also occasionally offer “bonus reservations,” which will not be included in the park reservation limit for annual passes.

The amount of park pass reservations available with the new Annual Pass program will depend on the pass tier, with the Pixie Dust Pass allowing up to 3 park reservations at a time, the Pirate Pass allowing for 4 park reservations at a time, and both the Sorcerer and Incredi-Pass granting up to 5 park reservations at a time.

Do the new Disney World Annual Passes include PhotoPass?

PhotoPass will no longer be included with Disney World Annual Passes, and will now be an add-on of $99 per pass. Guests will be able to customize their new passes with other add-ons as well, such as access to water parks, sports, and more.

The PhotoPass upgrade includes professional photos by Disney World photographers, digital downloads of PhotoPass photos and videos, and photos of select rides. PhotoPass was previously included in Disney World annual passes.

Do current Disney World Annual Passholders have to switch to the new passes?

Beginning September 8th, current Disney World Annual Passholders will have to renew to the new tier system. If your renewal happens to fall before September 8th, you will be able to renew into the current program until September 7th.

After September 8th, current passholders who have not renewed into the new tier system will be able to hold more reservations at a time, depending on which annual pass you’ve purchased. Once current passholders are up for renewal after September 8th, they must renew (at a discount) into the new annual passholder program.

One thing to note is that those who renew their annual pass prior to September 8th but do not activate it until on or after that date will be given the comparable pass type under the new structure. So, for example, if you are activating a Platinum Plus Annual Pass on or after September 8th, you would get the Incredi-Pass with both the Water Park and Sport and Disney PhotoPass add-ons included at no additional cost.

Can I upgrade my current Disney World ticket to an Annual Pass?

After September 8th you can upgrade your Disney World ticket at a Disney Park ticket window, the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs, or by calling 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639).

In the future, guests will be able to upgrade tickets to Annual Passes through the My Disney Experience app. If you’re a Florida residents and you want to pay for your pass via the monthly payment plan, you must upgrade your ticket in person.
