Move over, Mickey. It’s time for LOUIS to shine! That’s right — the day we’ve been waiting for is approaching FAST, and we’re almost there, as Princess Tiana once sang.
In case you’re unfamiliar, let’s back up for a second. A NEW Magic Kingdom attraction called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World SOON! This ride is taking over the old Splash Mountain attraction — but don’t worry, that epic drop lives on. We’ve seen animatronic previews, new character critter introductions, and ride testing all leading up to opening day, but there’s one important question we still need answered.
Before we get to the big announcement, we should start with a little background. Here’s what we know about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
The Story
Disney revealed that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog after Tiana’s final kiss, where we will join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.
We still don’t know what exactly will happen during the ride, but we do know that Princess Tiana already made her dream come true when she opened her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace. (You can visit the REAL Tiana’s Palace in Disneyland now!)
Additionally, we know that Tiana is hosting a Mardi Gras Party for the people of New Orleans, but she realizes that the party is “missing a key ingredient.” OH NO! Every good story needs a place to start, right? Well, that’s our call to action.
While you ride through the story, look out for Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, Mama Odie, Eudora (Tiana’s mom), Charlotte, “Big Daddy,” the King and Queen of Maldonia, and Naveen’s brother Prince Ralphie. It’s a star-studded cast!
Before you even hop on a log and sail down the bayou, the story will begin in the ride’s queue. Here, you’ll be introduced to an employee-owned company called Tiana’s Foods.
Oh, and look for a “special surprise” in the queue; the scent of fresh beignets will be pumped into the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue!

OK, now, speaking of the queue, we need to talk about what it’s going to be like waiting in line for this new attraction.
The Line
Disney has FINALLY confirmed that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be part of Magic Kingdom’s Genie+ lineup.
This means that Tiana’s will NOT have an Individual (a la carte) Lightning Lane. To ride, you’ll be able to purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom — or get the multi-park option — and reserve a Lightning Lane for the ride that way!

Absolutely shocked this is opening as a Genie+ attraction. Thought for sure it would be ILL for at least a little while. But, on the plus side, it will make it easier for Disney IT and less likely they will mess it up with TBA’s addition.
