Today is a BIG day for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

That’s because it’s Hollywood Studios’ birthday — its 35th birthday, to be exact. To honor the occasion, Disney World released an exclusive Hollywood Studios map, and Disney is offering some exclusive 35th anniversary merchandise, too. We also got to see an exclusive show to celebrate the big day, so join us as we take you along for the ride.

The show took place this morning (May 1st) at the Theater of the Stars right at 11AM, and we got a special media preview. It started with an introduction by two BIG celebrity icons — Miss Piggy and Kermit.

These two STARS hosted the show. Can you name a more iconic couple? We can’t.

After that, one of the Walt Disney World Ambassadors, Serena Arvizu, came out and spoke about Hollywood Studios and its anniversary.

Jackie Swisher, Vice President of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, made an appearance, too. We told you it was a big day!

The show also recognized Cast Members who have been working at Hollywood Studios since its opening day. They stood up while fans cheered them on and then walked down to the front of the stage.

While the Cast Members stood in front of the stage, characters from Fantasmic! came out and performed their iconic dance routine from the finale of the show.

Then there was confetti…LOTS of confetti.

Kermit and Miss Piggy closed the show by telling us goodbye. But we’ll see them again soon when we head on over to MuppetVision 3D.
