Disney World CONFIRMS 4 Changes for the Country Bear Jamboree Retheme

You know the saying “when one door closes, another one opens”? That theme is very prevalent in the Disney parks!

Country Bear Jamboree

Over the years Disney has swapped and updated countless rides and attractions in its theme parks and now another change is hitting Magic Kingdom. Disney previously announced a new version of Country Bear Jamboree would be coming later this summer — but what changes can you expect?! We’re going to dig into everything Disney has confirmed so far!

Country Bear Jamboree is an opening day attraction for Magic Kingdom meaning it opened with the park in 1971. It was one of the final attractions that Walt Disney helped develop. The attraction isn’t going away permanently like others including Splash Mountain, but it is changing. Here’s how!

Music Style

With the revamp of Country Bear Jamboree, Disney is going to incorporate a bunch of country music styles. Artists from Nashville are even working on the music!

The new show is inspired by Opry-style shows in Nashville and some of the genres included are bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, and rockabilly. Disney has NOT confirmed if any full fan-favorite songs will return. However, Disney has said it, “will include easter eggs from the beginning to the end including a familiar tune fans may remember.”

Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah

We’ll see if they bring back full songs or if they incorporate them in new ways — only time will tell!

Adding Disney Songs

Continuing with the music theme, there will be Disney music in the show when it returns! Disney has released this clip with “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book so this is a clue we’ll be seeing that song in the show. Baloo, who originally sang the song, is a bear after all!

It’s not clear which other Disney songs we could see in the show, but it does sound like there will be several. Disney previously said, “The bears will sing new, reinterpreted Disney tunes.” We can’t wait to see which songs they pick and what styles they will be matched with!

New Looks

On top of that, the bears will get some new outfits! Disney shared a look of Henry in his new get-up. We like the colorful jacket and tall hat!

The poster Disney first shared in 2023 shows some of these new looks — see for yourself! Romeo (which we’ll get more into in a minute) has quite the hairdo going on!

It will be interesting to see these new looks in person when it reopens this summer.

Disney also confirmed that the bear named “Liver Lips McGrowl” is getting a new name — Romeo McGrowl.

This is also confirmed on the poster Disney shared of the show.

Country Bear Jamboree is closed in Magic Kingdom as of January 27th, 2024 and the new show is set to debut sometime this summer. That means Frontierland is full of construction between this project and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, so keep that in mind when visiting Magic Kingdom.

We’ll let you know about any Country Bear Jamboree updates, and in the meantime keep following AllEars!
