INTRODUCTION

The Flying Unicorn in The Lost Continent takes the young and young-at-heart on an exhilarating coaster ride through an enchanted forest. It is designed to maximize the fun for your younger children — and make it easy for parents to get involved in the action and play along, too. Located just pass Dueling Dragons, The Flying Unicorn is a little out of the way, so be sure to look to your right just before crossing the bridge to enter Jurassic Park.

ATTRACTION

Flying Unicorn RideTHE FLYING UNICORN-- Walk though the Enchanted Forest to reach the shingled shack that serves as the ride station. This family-friendly coaster is for those guests who aren't quite ready for Dueling Dragons and The Hulk. Your unicorn will slowly climb the hill to the first drop and after that speed through a series of the dips and turns. The unicorn-shaped cars reach a top speed of 23 mph and a top height of 40 feet. The Flying Unicorn is a short ride, so you may want to consider that if the line is long. The coaster holds 16 guests per ride.

TOURING TIPS

Take advantage of the Universal Express Pass System.

Guests between 36" and 48" must be accompanied by and adult.

Wheelchair users must be able to transfer to the ride vehicle's seating.

The nearest restrooms are located directly across from the entrance to Dueling Dragons next to The Enchanted Oak Restaurant and The Alchemy Bar.

Electronic lockers located near Dueling Dragons are available free of charge for the first hour of use so you can stow loose items and bags.

KIDS AND CHARACTERS

Characters are very limited in The Lost Continent. Merlin the Wizard has been spotted wandering the area. Kids will enjoy The Mystic Fountain in front of the The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad ShowSindbad's Village also has carnival-style games of chance themed in a Renaissance Fair style.

DINING

Mythos Restaurant -- This award-winning full service restaurant comes highly recommended for both its food and decor. Open for both lunch and dinner. You can dine inside the cave-like restaurant or outside on the patio that overlooks the inland waterway with great views of Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park. Items featured include soups, salads, seafood, steak and pasta. Reservations available.

Fire-Eater's Grill - Counter service restaurant serving gyros, chicken, ribs, burgers and salads.

The Enchanted Oak Tavern - Located directly across the Plaza from Dueling Dragons. Eat inside the great Oak where you can't help but feel Merlin's presence. Dark and cool inside with ribs, smoked turkey legs, roasted corn on the cob and roasted chicken. Outdoor seating on the inland waterway is also available. The food seems to be better here than other counter service spots that serve ribs and chicken. A full service bar is at the far end of The Enchanted Oak Tavern, called The Alchemy Bar.  Happy hour times vary.

INTERESTING FACTS

The seats in the The Flying Unicorn ride vehicle sit two across with eight rows.

As legend has it, a wizard gathered scraps of armor, wood from magical castles and metal from witches' cauldrons to build a cart resembling a noble steed. Once the wizard found a unicorn's horn and placed on the front of the cart, it came to life and starting soaring over the forest.
