December 7, 2007, through January 1, 2008 All the Special Events listed here are included with Park Admission Macy's Holiday Parade - This special holiday event takes place daily at sunset (approx.) 5 pm in Universal Studios. With authentic balloons and floats directly from the Macy 's Thanksgiving Day Parade. You will see classic balloons like Macy's Elf and other balloon icons, marching bands, crazy clowns, Universal's most popular characters and the big man himself, Santa Claus. The parade also features the debut of the Simpsons family in their newly-created RV. The Simpsons will be featured in an all-new mega-attraction coming to Universal Studios in Spring 2008. The parade steps off on Amblin Blvd, next to Twister in New York. Then heads down the Plaza of the Stars (towards the park entrance), the parade then turns onto Rodeo Drive in Hollywood and all finally works it way into New York for the nightly tree lighting ceremony. There are special viewing areas for "Little Stars", Annual Passholders and Guests with disabilities. Balloonopolis - Located in The Bone Yard in the Production Central section of Universal Studios. Get an up close view of Scooby Doo, Garfield and Snoopy balloons. The Blues Brothers Christmas Show - Join Jake, Elwood, Mabel and Jazz for their version of some classic holiday songs. This show is located in the New York section in Universal Studios on Delancey Street. Jake and Elwood, the bad boys of the blues, arrive in the classic police car bluesmobile after a short warm up show with Mabel, the waitress and Jazz, the saxophone man. Shows usually vary but during the Christmas Show you can expect to heads songs like "All I want for Christmas is You" by Mabel and Jazz, "Run, Run Rudolph" and Jake and Elwood doing a "I'm a Snowman" instead of "Soul Man". There is also The Blues Brothers version of decorating a very small Christmas tree that includes toilet paper, Pall Malls and a Budweiser can. Check your park guide map for show times. A Barney Holiday - Barney, BJ, Baby Bop and friends perform a sing and clap along with a few special holiday songs at Universal Studios. Located in Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone. The show last approximately 25 minutes. Meet Barney and his friends after the show in Barney's Backyard where kids can play in tree houses, trains and other fun things. Check you park guide map for show times. Star Toons/Kids Zone Character Show and Meet & Greet - This short show takes place in Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone in Universal Studios. The party begins with a few Christmas songs, dancing and few cute gags with Woody and Winnie Woodpecker, Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Ted and Curious George. After the show, all the characters come out for photos and autographs. Universal 360 A Cinesphere Spectacular - From December 26 to January 1, 2007 Universal Studios will bring back this unique night time show. The centerpiece of the Universal Studios show will be four huge spheres floating on barges in the park's central lagoon. The three-story globes will serve as 360-degree screens for Universal Pictures' most memorable movie scenes. The film clips will be choreographed to movie-theme music playing from a new 300-speaker sound system, accompanied by fireworks and lasers. Grinchmas - In Islands of Adventures - Back by popular demand, the celebration includes an all-new “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” show in honor of the 50th anniversary of the book. The live show features six songs recorded by Mannheim Steamroller, with new arrangements of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Where Are You, Christmas?” The show takes place on a brand-new stage in the heart of Seuss Landing between The Cat in The Hat and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. A special viewing area for "Little Whos" has been set-up directly in the front of the stage. After the show have a photo taken with the mean green one. You can find the Grinch inside Dr. Seuss' All You Can Read Book Store. The store is next to the entrance to the new "High In Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride". There are many "Who's" running around Seuss Landing this year so don't be sly; say Hi, ask them for an autograph or a photo and you may find yourself decorated for the holidays. |
